Ten Bible Verses to Help You Face the Storms of Life

Jesus never said that following Him would be easy.  No follower of Jesus is exempt from storms of life.  We can’t go around them; we must go through them.  But, we can go through them equipped with the provision of God’s precious promises (2 Peter 1:3-4)

Here are my top ten timeless truths (Bible verses) that I turn to sustain and strengthen my soul during life’s storms.  These truths help me reorient my perspective in light of eternity, strengthen my resolve to persevere in faith, and encourage me to keep rejoicing in Christ.
Psalm 13
Psalm 16:1- 2 Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
I say to the LORD, “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.”
Psalm 121:1-2    I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?
My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
Matthew 11:28-30 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Romans 8:18   For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
1Corinthians 15:57-58 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4   Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
2Corinthians 4:16-17   So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison
Hebrews 12:1-2   Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
1Peter 1:6-8 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory,
