Pray for Us
In 1 Thessalonians 5:25, the Apostle Paul entreated the Thessalonian Church to pray for him and his ministry team. In this instance, I’m asking that you “pray for us” as we determine when we can gather in person again and how.
At a press conference last Friday, Governor Wolf announced that he expects our area will enter the “yellow phase” on June 5. This is exciting! In the yellow phase, groups of no more than 25 people are permitted to gather together. It is our desire that we would be able to hold small groups during this phase. Pray for us and be patient with us as we work on organizing these groups and establish the proper safety protocol according to CDC guidelines. Resuming worship services will depend upon getting the “green light” from the government and the Easton Area School District. We plan to continue to offer video streaming for those who choose to stay home for health reasons.
Please know that prudence and YOUR SAFETY will guide us in our decision-making process. We will continue to abide by the governing restrictions out of love for the Lord. In addition, we want to maintain a robust witness for the Lord by loving our neighbor. Baltimore pastor, Joel Kurz, writes, “If we can avoid unintentionally passing on a deadly disease, it is a loving act. Also, our Christian witness could be harmed if we meet. To the unbelieving world, it doesn’t look brave; it looks unloving.” We want to have a reputation for loving our neighbor not for resisting authority.
Finally, we do respect the decision each family will make in regard to worshiping in person or continuing to worship at home via the live stream until they deem it safe to return. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
